Affiliate marketing is definitely a business where you can make a lot of money if you have a gifted with natural raw talent and a load of money to blow testing out traffic sources.
Unfortunately, not everyone is going to be lucky enough to have insane raw talent as well as the cash needed to start pulling in 4-5 figures a day and become an affiliate marketing rockstar.
This is where getting in with the right crowd can solve your problems. And, I’m not suggesting you make friends for the sake of just getting their resources. I’m suggesting you do what people in other industries do, network with people “better than you”.
I explain this by giving a Mixed Martial Arts example. A friend of mine for years trained Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in a small town gym. He was quickly the best one in the gym.
Then upon moving to the big city, he was overwhelmed by all the talented gyms. However, he quickly improved beyond his wildest dreams by training with guys that were much better than him. It shows the importance of networking and working with people better than you.
The same goes in Affiliate Marketing. If you are in your small town “gym” so to speak, working on your small town campaigns, you are going to have to have some insane raw natural talent to get beyond that, all by yourself. However, if you share beers with some guys doing way better than you, you’re bound to pick up tips and tricks and maybe get motivated to get on their level, faster than you would by staying in your comfortable zone.
Affiliate Marketing is also one of those businesses where what is publicly available in terms of payouts and offers and support for the average person, is drastically different than what is available for the elite super affiliates.
